A few firsts

Lately, in the Stevens household, we have had a few "firsts." I want to share some of those with you.

Eli drew with real markers (not the color wonder ones that only draw on the color wonder paper...he has done that already) for the first time. I think he got more marker on himself than on the paper...ha! He certainly had fun, and I hope his Great Mom-Mom liked what he drew for her!

Parker turned 4 months old, and he got to play in the exersaucer for the first time! His older brother was nice enough to show him how to play with all of the toys that are on the exersaucer. Eli likes to spin Parker around and show him the "ball", the animal buttons that make noise when pushed, the "sun," etc.

This past weekend, Eli had his first woodworking project with Daddy. He helped Daddy build a shoe rack so that we do not have a pile of shoes right inside our door anymore. How I love organization! Anyway, Eli had a lot of fun watching Daddy use his tools and then trying them out himself. He was a little scared of the loud noise Daddy's saw made, but by the second day, it did not seem to phase him. I am sure Daddy and Eli will make many more things together in the future! Eli was very proud and kept saying, "I help Daddy make a shoe rack." He also said that Daddy's saw was "so loud."

On Monday, Parker rolled from his tummy to his back for the first time! I cheered for him like any proud Mommy would. :) He had already rolled from his tummy to his back a few times. He is definitely getting stronger by the day. I have a feeling he will be crawling before we know it! Life will certainly get even more interesting when that happens!

On Tuesday, Eli had his first day of Kids Day Out (preschool at a local church). He was very excited to use the Spiderman backpack that he picked out! I took him to his classroom at 9 am, and he ran right in and started playing with some trucks. I watched him for a few minutes through a window that the parents can see through but the kids can't. I tried to hold back the tears, but it did not last long when a Mom next to me started to cry. I can't believe my little Eli is growing up so fast! When I went to pick him up at 2 pm, his teacher said that he did good and that he especially liked playing on the playground (not that I was surprised). He even took an hour nap during naptime. On the way home, Eli said, "I had fun at preschool." Thank you to those of you who were praying for him (and for me)! Your prayers were felt!
Excited about preschool!

And this is Eli & Parker's 1st "diaper-only" picture together (couldn't resist..they will probably get mad at me for this one day):
Cuties!

  1. Can't believe how fast they're growing up. Tell them to slow down!
