A few weeks ago, my Dad ("Pop-Pop") came to visit us, and Eli immediately warmed up to him. Eli loved playing with him, and I even got to run some errands by myself (which is a rarity). While my dad was here, we also drove up to Temple so he could see Devon and Jonathan's new house and visit with his other grandchildren. They all loved having Pop-Pop around! We were grateful that he could spend part of his Spring Break with us.

Last weekend, a friend of ours here (who is a photographer on the side) took Eli's 1-year pictures. She has sent us a few that she took so here they are. :)

Mr. Blue Eyes

Since my last post, I have been nominated as the UHS Alliance President for 2011-2012. I am a little nervous about balancing the role of President with being a wife and a mommy, but I have great support from the other Board members. The Alliance is the residents' spouse group that I am heavily involved here in San Antonio. We support one another by having Girls' Nights Out, Family Dinners, Couples Nights, playdates (lots of those!), etc. We also do some community service throughout the year. The Alliance has been a lifesaver for me, connecting me with a great group of ladies who have become my close friends here. I am very thankful for them! No one quite understands the life of a resident as much as another resident's spouse does. Right now, we are preparing for the arrival of our newest incoming residents (and their families) in July. Can't wait to meet them and hopefully become a source of support for them too!
