Eli's first wedding
As usual, time seems to go by so quickly these days, and the next thing I know several weeks have flown by without me updating this. I am still learning to juggle motherhood, being the best wife I can be, keeping up with family & friends, and maintaining a somewhat clean house...bear with me! :) Last weekend, my Mom and Grandma flew up from Pensacola because my cousin was getting married just an hour and a half away from San Antonio. Eli loved spending time with them! He especially loved it when my Mom gave him his first baby food. He started with squash (mixed with oatmeal), and he loved it! Also, he loved to laugh at GiGi. I was folding the laundry downstairs when I heard him laughing hysterically. I thought my Mom was tickling him, but she wasn't...she was just being her silly self, and Eli thought it was hilarious! Of course, I had to get the video camera out so if you need a good laugh, check out the video below.

On Saturday (Aug. 7th), we drove to Marble Falls, TX, which is the home of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson (hope I spelled his name correctly). The lake is huge and absolutely gorgeous! From the church sanctuary, we had a beautiful view of the lake. My cousin, Robert, and his beautiful bride, Mary, got married, and we had a fun time at their reception. My aunt Pam made Robert's groom's cake, and she did a fantastic job!

Robert just returned from spending almost a year in Nepal on a Fulbright Scholarship, and his teacher (from Nepal) came to the wedding. His teacher is very well known in Nepal for his exceptional talent on the special drums you can see below. He played a few songs for us, and then Robert and his friend joined in with him. Very cool!

Afterwards, Robert surprised Mary by singing her a song...too cute! I was shocked to see my seemingly reserved cousin burst out in song and dance. I guess he has changed more than I realized! Two days after the wedding, Robert and Mary flew to Oman where they both have music jobs. God bless you two!

In my previous post, I mentioned that Autumn could not move her back 2 legs. After 2 weeks of steroids, she is able to move them some and can even take a few steps on them. Also, she is able to control her bladder now (thank the Lord!). She seems to be making progress, but we are not sure how long it will take her to fully recover. Thanks so much for all the prayers! Keep them coming!
Have a blessed week!
